Cross-country skiing paradise Semmering
Johannes trail:
The access to the trail is at the lower terminus of the
chair lift Hirschenkogel and leads into the Dürrgarben. After 4 kilometres you
have the possibility to continue to Steinhaus and Spital am Semmering. After 12
kilometres and past the sports ground Jauern you reach the lower terminus of the
chair lift Stuhleck in Spital am Semmering.
You now
have the choice of either returning on the same route or to take advantage of
public transport (train and bus). The routing distinguishes itself due to its
slight decent and flat sections throughout and for that reason it is suitable
for everybody.
Wechsel - Semmering panorama trail:
The Wechsel – Semmering panorama trail which is
90 kilometres in length is a unique experience because it is
not routed in a basin but the whole trail is situated in a height of more than
100 metres. This route is guaranteed snow and it offers wonderful panoramic
views of Schneeberg, Rax, Wechsel and the area of Stuhleck.
Accesses to the trail are located at Steyersberger Schwaig,
St.
Corona, Feistritzsattel, Mönichkirchen, Semmering (Johannes trail -
lower terminus of the chair lift
Hirschenkogel – to Alpkogel no fees apply!), Kummerbauer Stadl
and the inn Dissauer Trattenbach.
