From the train station Semmering along the tack to the
station Wolfsbergkogel, further on to the observatory Doppelreiter and to the
"view of the 20 Schilling note". After that you walk on to Roten Berg with a
view of Breitenstein and Klamm. From the "Kalten Rinne" it leads on to the upper
Adlitzgrabenstraße to Breitenstein. From there via Weinzettlhöhe to Klamm train
station.
Here the walkers have got two

Choice

Continue to the train station Gloggnitz, the path with imposing
views continues directly next to the train tracks to the train station Eichberg.
At the train station the route leaves the train tracks and continues to
Gloggnitz.

B:
From the train station Klamm, along the road ascend to
"Dreiländereck" – impressive view onto Maria Schutz and Sonnwendstein. After
crossing the Kreuzbergstraße there is a bridle path leading towards Küb in the
valley. Imposing villas and renovated mansions can be admired here. The path
leads above the railway line on towards Payerbach. On this section there are
wonderful panoramic views of Gahns and Feuchter, Schneeberg which is located
behind and to the left the impressive massif of Raxalpe.
Between Payerbach and Küb there is the biggest ascent of
the Semmering railway line (25 per mille), this section was also the
famous testing route for the first mountain engines. Through the Kreuzberg
viaduct the way leads into the centre of Payerbach. Via main square, past the
spa park and the park bridge (here you can admire the longest viaduct of the
Semmering train line, 127 metres long, 25 metres high) the way leads on to the
nostalgia- and museum train station Payerbach-Reichenau. A small open air museum
(steam engine, gondola of the Rax cable car, wagon of the regional train) and a
documentary photo exhibition with the topic of "140 Years Semmering Train" are
located here.
