Mürzzuschlag
The little borough capital in the Northeast of the
county Styria is always worth a visit. The town, which was firstly officially
mentioned in 1227, offers a range of historically interesting buildings.
Mürzzuschlag is the last town before Semmering, the natural border to the county
Lower Austria.
Brahms Museum
In Mürzzuschlag between 1884 and 1885
the composer Johannes Brahms wrote his fourth symphony, the "Mürzzuschlager",
and therefore there is now a Brahms museum.
World's largest winter sports
museum
The new museum presents in a unique way the world of winter
sports in its entire diversity. A fantastic journey is awaiting you: over the
glaciers in icy heights – beautiful and dangerous at the same time – a quaint,
original skiing hut, a racy ride in a toboggan in an iced channel. Experience at
first hand as a player the heated atmosphere of a full ice hockey stadium and
meet the past and present stars of the ski racing circus.
